thank you but i'm sorry it doesn't work, i don't know why i cannot see the epsilone light trade in the patch windows.
I delete the first fxt file i've done for epsilone light form cuelux/personalities/factory and paste the .xml one.
But i don't see it in the patch window. And i'm using the last beta version on cuelux... :o

That is strange, you should see it coming up as soon as you have put the XML file in the personality directory.

Could you check the version and build of Cuelux for me please, you can find it in the "Options "menu under "About".
Title: Re: barre led
Post by: Julien Levaufre on September 03, 2010, 09:31:10 AM
as i told you i have the last version:
Version 1.04 build 4
Title: Re: barre led
Post by: Bart van Wunnik on September 03, 2010, 09:45:56 AM
Please try restarting your Cuelux.
If that does not work, put the XML file in the "personalities\User" folder instead.
If you have put the XML file in the "personalities\User" folder, it should come up as the bottom of the list in the patch window.

i have already restart cuelux almost 10 times!
So i put the xml file in the user folder and i still don't see it, to test i have put my old epsilone light.fxt file into the user folder and this time i can see it in the patch window.
it may helps you to know than i use windows xp.

ok so i found the problem, in fact as you made a mistake in the file i corrected myself and i think i deleted too many things and this way cuelux was not able anymore to read it.
SO know the file is working in cuelux, but it still don't work with my product...
The mistake you made was for chanet one, between 0-10 it's not a dimmer but it ables to use the dimmer on the other channel so i deleted this part:
            <part attribute="Dimmer">
                <range function="Control MSB" offset="0">0,10</range>
            </part>
but now exept the macros, nothing work i cannot light the whole bar or each sub fixture, and when i look at the dmx monitor, nothing change, exept chanel 1 with macros. And i cannot moove the strobe fader??

I am trying to figure out why there is no DMX signal on the RGD faders in the different subs.
The problem that you have with the strobe fader, is a know bug in the beta release of Cuelux.

Post by: Julien Levaufre on September 03, 2010, 04:22:54 PM
when i tried to make by myself the fixture file i found that if you put a dimmer part in each subfixture it works...but i don't know why and anyway there is no global dimmer chanel on my product! :P
Title: Re: barre led

So the problem is solved?
When making the file I found out that the led bar your using is a weird product ;)
Title: Re: barre led
Post by: Julien Levaufre on September 03, 2010, 06:54:56 PM
no, -the problem is not solve as i cannot light up the whole barre in the same time using the chanels 2,3 and 4. And there is no reason to add a dimmer chanel for each subfixture  as this chanel doesn't exist!!
Title: Re: barre led
Post by: Bart van Wunnik on September 06, 2010, 11:27:10 AM
To light up the whole bar at once, you can select the three sub channels (double click on the fixture, title bar) and then set the color that you would like.
(The dimmer will then also be the dimmer for the whole bar).

Cuelux automatically generates a dimmer channel for LED fixtures.

so after many test i almost succed in making myself the fixture file for my led bar. he re is what i made:
Code: [Select]
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<personalities>
    <manufacturer label="Epsilone light">
        <model label="Deco Bar">
            <part attribute="Strobe">
                <range function="Linear" offset="0">11,51</range>
            </part>
            <part attribute="Macro">
                <range function="On" offset="0">52,91</range>
                <range function="On" offset="0">92,131</range>
                <range function="On" offset="0">132,150</range>
                <range function="On" offset="0">151,169</range>
                <range function="On" offset="0">170,189</range>
                <range function="On" offset="0">190,209</range>

                    <range function="Red MSB" offset="1">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Green MSB" offset="2">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Blue MSB" offset="3">0,255</range>
                </part>
            <sub>
                <part attribute="Colour RGB">
                    <range function="Red MSB" offset="4">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Green MSB" offset="5">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Blue MSB" offset="6">0,255</range>
                </part>
<part attribute="Dimmer">
<range function="Control MSB" offset="0">0,10</range>
</part>
            </sub>
            <sub>
                <part attribute="Colour RGB">
                    <range function="Red MSB" offset="7">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Green MSB" offset="8">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Blue MSB" offset="9">0,255</range>
                </part>
<part attribute="Dimmer">
<range function="Control MSB" offset="0">0,10</range>
</part>
            </sub>
            <sub>
                <part attribute="Colour RGB">
                    <range function="Red MSB" offset="10">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Green MSB" offset="11">0,255</range>
                    <range function="Blue MSB" offset="12">0,255</range>
                </part>
<part attribute="Dimmer">
<range function="Control MSB" offset="0">0,10</range>
</part>
            </sub>
        </model>
    </manufacturer>
</personalities>
but i still have a few problems with the sub fixtures, when i select the sub fixtures i cannot use the strobe, in the file i show you i took off the strob part i tried to add to each subfixture as he changed nothing...so how can i have the strob when i set the color for each subfixtures? And i also have a problem with the dimmer of each sub-fixture i add the dimmer part because without cuelux don't take care of the sub-fixture but this way it doesn't do the dimmer link beetween the RGB chanel and the global dimmer fader in the programmer?
So if you help me for this last problems will be great! Thanks!

Hi,

In the file attached i fixed the strobe part that you asked for.
Regarding the dimmer, it is not possible to link these two.

I'm sorry but it still doesn't work as you took off the dimmer part for each subfixture...I don't know why but without it the dmx chanels for subfixture do not moove.
I tried just to add the dimmer part to the file you sent me but even if i have the strob fader lighted up in red i cannot moove it.
here is the file i have done:

Here is a new file that you should give a try.
The Led bar that you are using is a strange product regarding the DMX control.

I'm sorry but i really feel that i'm the only one really working on this fixture, you just sent me back almost the same file as you sent me the first time and that was not working.
It strange i have to learn you that if there is not dimmer chanel declared for each sub-fixture cuelux don't moove the dmx chanels corresponding of the subfixture...and it's the third time i tell you that...and each time you take off the dimmer part! and so it doesn't work.
You say my barre led is strange but i really don't find it's so complicated...the problems are now coming from cuelux witch may have some small bugs.
My last file was almost good but i was just missing the strob on each sub fixture, and when i add the strob part in each sub-fixture the strob fader is light up in red but i cannot moove the fader. And when i select the global ficture after set up the subfixture light, i can moove the strob fader but the value on the dmx supervisor doesn't change...
 I'm sorry, but  i thaught if i gave you the dmx chanels of my product you will send me back quickly a working fixture but it appears than after almots one week, i am the one who spent most of time trying to make this fixture!

hi Julien,

I see you bad luck with this particular personality file. We have just internally swapped from our FXT to our new XML file format and the guys are needing to get familiar with that a little, this might not have helped the time-to-julien for this file :) Having said that, Bart was correct to remove the info from the subs where the offset was 0. In this case, for this fixture, the strobe should be in the main part. That's just how the syntax works.

I have attached my interpretation of the info you gave in your initial post. Please take into account:
- the main RGB section might be master to the sub's RGB section. This is indeed a very uncommon part of the fixture's dmx traits. I am a bit fuzzy on what it actually means. I certainly have not seen anything the similar before in a LED bar.
- Because the fixture has no dimmer channels, Cuelux will automatically create a virtual dimmer for each RGB section (in main and in the subs), so please don't forget to bring up the virtual dimmers.

My final request: please bear with us..! keep bumbing, kicking, replying untill you've got a perfectly working personality file. If the whole process already took so much time from all of us... then let it at least end with nice new personality file! :)

i understand it's not easy but what i say since a few post now is that i don't put the dimmer part in subfixture, it just doesn't work, the chanel value don't moove...
Title: Re: barre led
Post by: Julien Levaufre on September 07, 2010, 03:21:31 PM
so here is what happens...
If i select the fixture, the global dimmer works, the RGB chanels works and strob works too...
Now if i select only one subfixture, i can moove the dolor mix faders and the dimmer one, but in the DMX monitor i can't see any change in the chanels values...But if i add the dimmer part in the fixture file  when i moove the colour mix faders it works even if the dimmer fader don't do anything...

Hi Julien,

The new beta version of Cuelux is available for download at the Cuelux download page (http://www.cuelux.com/downloads).

In this new version the Led Bar that you are using should work fine.

ok now it's working great, i've changed a little bite the .xml file but now the way it works is logical so it's fine! ;D
I just have an other question, why i cannot shut it down using the master fader or blackout? The shutter and dimmer work fine in the programmer so i thaught it was linked with the master? maybe i'm wrong?

Hi Julien,

Already a new beta has been posted on the website.
In this new beta release the issue of the master dimmer and blackout button is solved.

I have add a new product to my fixture file and it's wroking fine expt one small trouble, the black out general button and fader don't control my product dimer or shutter, but on the led barre it's working??? I tried to check some differences between the 2 fixture but i cannot see why it's wroking with the led barre and not with my LED PAR 64, maybe can you help me to find the key???

just one small trick for thoose who try to make their own fixture file, you can use notepad++ it put colour in the code and it helps to understand... ;)

I see one differences between them...
Here the code you are using now for the RGB control:
Code: [Select]
            <part attribute="Colour RGB">
                <range function="Red MSB" offset="2">255,0</range>
                <range function="Green MSB" offset="3">255,0</range>
                <range function="Blue MSB" offset="4">255,0</range>
            </part>

Here you say 255,0 and not 0,255 !
I think it must be this:
Code: [Select]
            <part attribute="Colour RGB">
                <range function="Red MSB" offset="2">0,255</range>
                <range function="Green MSB" offset="3">0,255</range>
                <range function="Blue MSB" offset="4">0,255</range>
            </part>

yes but it'sbecause my PAR are a bite strange and at 0 they are ull and they need to be at 255 to be off...
So i've already read in the forum than inverting the max and min was possible and it works, even the shutter button works, it send 255 to all rgb dimmer chanel so it's fine, and the same for the global dimer in tthe programmer, it's working as it should, it just the link between the global black-out and global dimmer wich don't work..???
but thanks for looking! ;D

That's strange... :-\

Please try this:
Code: [Select]

<model label="PAR 64">
            <part attribute="Dimmer">
               <range function="Control MSB" offset="0">0,1</range>
            </part>
            <part attribute="Strobe">
                <range function="Linear" offset="0">0,127</range>
                <range function="Random" offset="0">128,253</range>
            </part>
            <part attribute="Colour RGB">
                <range function="Red MSB" offset="2">255,0</range>
                <range function="Green MSB" offset="3">255,0</range>
                <range function="Blue MSB" offset="4">255,0</range>
            </part>
            <part attribute="Colour">
                <range function="Scroll" offset="1">71,239</range>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_RED</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">0,9</range>
                </slot>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_YELLOW</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">10,19</range>
                </slot>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_GREEN</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">20,29</range>
                </slot>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_CYAN</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">30,39</range>
                </slot>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_BLUE</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">40,49</range>
                </slot>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_MAGENTA</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">50,59</range>
                </slot>
                <slot>
                    <colour>CLR_WHITE</colour>
                    <range function="On" offset="1">60,70</range>
                </slot>
            </part>
        </model>

I only put this in the code:
            <part attribute="Dimmer">
               <range function="Control MSB" offset="0">0,1</range>
            </part>

I can't test it here at the moment... maybe you have to play a bit with the >0,1<
A Dimmer function must work with the BlackOut button/fader.
I think you don't need to set this value in the editor during programming a cue/effect.

Good luck...

so i tried your solution, and now the link beetween the global dimmer and black out and the programmer are working, but as you add a "fake" dimmer chanel it just don't do anything  on my product, it just change chanel 0 from 0 to 1...???

Yes, it is only to link a Dimmer-function to the shutter-channel.
This means that the Black-out fader will gif a non-dim effect to your par64's and not a fade- in/out !

I think the Black-out function is now direct linked to the DMX Dimmer-channels and gifs a hard Zero to them.
That's why you can't link the Dimmer-function to your RGB channels because your are on at 0%

I don't now if Maarten can fix this in the software.

yes but what i don't understand it's why it's working with the led barre where i don't any any dmx chanel for dimmer too, and it's not working for the par... Maybe it's coming as you said from the invertion between 0 and 255, for each RGB chanel...
Maybe marteen will be able to help us a little more on this problem, because i don't think it's coming from the personalities files itself...

Hi julienlev,

We have checked the file that you have written for the Par64, it looks good.
We also have reproduced your error with the master fader, we found a small bug in the Cuelux regarding to this fixture.

This will be solved in the next release.
