pulling a BCF2000 fader down to zero generates sometimes (depending on movement speed) a value 1 instead of 0 witch causes some problems with triggers and RGB vaues staying at 1. Is there a solution?
BCF-2000 uses 7 bit one midi message resolution, why? There would be a 2 message mode allowing 14 bits which would at least allow 8 bit DMX channel resolution and avoids rounding errors like obove.

the problem is coming from the mechanical part of the BCF, sometimes when the fader goes down it bump on the low part and go up a little bite, then to get a 0 you have to go up a little bite then back to down position...
-
Yes, thats how the problem looks like -But- a midi trace (MIDOX) shows ALWAYS 0 on fader low position.
The behavior of remaining 1 is shown on DMX value transisition on odd pairs 5,3,1. Even value pairs show up as 6,4,2,0.
It seems to be a rounding problem inside of cuelux

ho, you may be right, i will chek this on mine quickly, i always thaught it was coming from the bcf and not from cuelux...
i let you know!

I don't think the issue is a rounding error. Rounding is done correctly. If the fader is moved to zero very fast then either the BCF does not send 0 or the MIDI function within Cuelux is missing that message because the messages are to fast after each other. If MIDOX always sees the 0 message, then that seems to suggest that the issue is a buffer overrun inside Cuelux.
I have to look into using 2 midi messages for 14 bit resolution.

Maarten

Hi all
using a BCF2000 for some time now, and experiencing the same problem...
BCF2000 fader to zero but Cuelux fader not...
Has this been adressed ?
Thanks and

Hello Klaus,
I'm sorry but at the moment there hasn't been a new development cycle scheduled yet.
I've added a link to this topic on the todo list for Cuelux

Hi Dennis
Sorry to ask,
the newest version of Cuelux doesn't seem to have a fix for the 'BCF-2000: no zero value at fader min' bug,
maybe I'm missing something ?
This really prevents us from using Cuelix with the BCF2000, which works fine with everything else we use it for...
I hope this fix makes it into the current beta / release version...
Can you please confirm ?
Thanks to everyone at Visual for their hard work
and best luck to all

Dit zou fijn zijn als dat 100% goed werkt. Hierdoor ben ik wat teleur gesteld in Cuelux... ???

Seems I'm not the only one that needs this fixed...

I had the same issue. So i returned it and no use a Midicon which is awesome , other than the software doesnt support fader pickup which can be a hastle. Im curios, has anyone mapped out this new Behringer motorized midi controller http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/XTouchC/

When the midi controllers in the range are on market, there will be midimaps ;)

Maybe I found out why Cuelux doesn't follow the BCF2000 to zero...
BCF2000 in global settings, I changed
encoder 7 value to 200
encoder 8 value to 100
update
encoder 7 value to 150
encoder 8 value to 50
seems to work too
Hope this helps
Best
