Title: Master brightness control
Post by: akupila on August 21, 2014, 04:44:13 PM
I'd like to have a way to control the master brightness value. I only need this for playing back recordings. This brightness should be controlled using a DMX channel on the input.

Is it possible to do something like this: output = recorded value * brightness, basically the same as the master brightness for the console except for pre-recorded shows? If not what would be a good way to add master brightness control?

on the recorder action list, you can find the intensity control. It should fit your need!

The problem is if i set the intensity to say 50% it starts playing this recording while setting it to 0 stops it. I'd like to have independent control of which animation is playing and the intensity.

I could have playback triggered with this, having 8 sliders send out DMX values on 8 different channels (the CueCore is configured to 8 memories). There are two problems with this though: 1) the 4 last triggered animations will play, 2) looking at the lighting table that sends these commands out there's no way to know which animation is playing (the 8 sliders are in arbitrary positions).

The CueCore supports variables which i'm guessing could be used for this. However i can't seem to find any documentation on these?

Hi again,

As mentioned before the recorder specific intensity isn't really enough for us. Is there a way to have crossfades between different animations and master max intensity control?

The problem is that we want to have nice smooth fades between animations but also need to be able to turn down the master brightness at night as it will be too bright otherwise (the installation is outdoors). The only option right now seems to be to not fade between animations but only have the master intensity slider that controls the intensity of all animations (-> very manual, not as nice looking)
