Title: IP conncetivity required for CueCore softwares?
Post by: Alex2 on February 12, 2016, 02:35:22 PM
Dear VP Team,

for the integration of a CueCore into the IT-network of my company I need information about ip connectivity of all softwares that may be connected remotely to the device. That means I need to know (best in matrix or table form) all ports and services on that ports . Additionally, I need foor each service statments about direction of the connection of each port (uni/bidirectional, who is source/receiver). For example:

"port 21 /  service:ftp / direction:bidirectional"

Do you think you can do that? I would need that for the softwares vManager and CueLuxPro.

Thanks a lot

Alex

Hello Alex,

All our applications communicate using UDP. The port number that is used by default is 16945. However, when opening CueluxPro and vManager, one might open an port provided by the OS (so hard to predict which port will be assigned). Moreover, for every device an additional port will be requested at the OS, hence which port will be used is hard to predict. The port opend in our application are also always bidirectional. The CueCore's will always use port 16945 (so destination port is fixed).
I can't really answer what the service name is, since there is no official visual productions service. Ftp like protocols are used so widely that these type of protocol are adopted in OS's and network management systems. As ftp uses TCP as underlying protol for data transfer, our protocol uses UDP as underlying protocol, however, our protocol is not adapted as a service. If you have to provide a service, I would try something as service:visual and hope they accept it.
Hope this helps,
best regards,

Jurrien

Dear Jurrien,

that answers nearly all ... I'm sure this will suffice.

Thanks a lot
