Title: Briteq Club Laser 7 Mk2
Post by: Danny on September 25, 2016, 09:07:00 PM
When I patch the Briteq Club Laser 7 Mk2 fixture, the choice between the 1 Ch and 17 Ch options is missing (see attach manual of the laser, p7). Any idea where it is gone or what I'm doing wrong?

Great, thanks Julien, it works fine....

...but.... I already have a user.personality file in use. If I replace it with the one you send, I loose my former fixture and is de laser all that is left.
I'v been looking around the forum to see how I can combine different user.personality files, but without luck.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

PS: I've added my current user.personality file (user.personalty_Old) and the one you send me (user.personality_laser)

you need to make copy past in edit mode using a text editor to merge 2 user file...
Anyway it's done, please find it included.
Enjoy ;)

Thx for adding the combined file (although in theory it looks easy, but in reality if your not familiar with mark up language (I presume), it's not that evident).

The one channel version of the fixture works fine, I used it on a gig this Saturday. Sunday, I wanted to try to program the fixture in 17 Ch mode. In attach you can find a screenshot of the fixture in Cuety in 17 Ch mode.
As you notice, only 4 of the 17 channels are controllable. Any idea what causes this?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Great you can used you fixture for your last gig, but for the 17ch mode i think cuety is really not done to manage it.
Cuety had been developped for simple standard dmx lights, your laser in 17ch is not standard and is not simple... Even with a more powerfull dmx controller it's always complicated to control a laser because the laser functions are different than a standard moving head or par. But with lot's of custom function we can find a way.
Cuety only gets 2 custom faders, and it's not enaught to control all the functions of the laser... SO i am sorry but i think the best is to continue using the 1 chanel mode!

I agree Julien, full control over the laser with cuety will be probably a little bit far fetched, but being limited to the 1Ch mode seems to be a little bit unrespectfull to the device.
It looks to me that there is a lot possible with just 3 or 4 channels of the 17Ch mode (e.g. with Ch1 & Ch2 one could build a lot more (mini-) shows that would make the laser give more variety during a gig.
But to do so, the 17Ch mode needs to be implemented in a proper way, and I'm afraid I don't have the knowledge to do that...

the best for you also for 2017, i am really sorry for the delay but i did it, you can now control your laser in 17ch mode with cuety, i needed to put some parameter on some useless fader  so it will be a bite tricky but you can access everything now!
enjoy ;)
