Title: LPU-2 in big network environment
Post by: tomaszmoldoch on October 20, 2021, 12:00:45 PM
Is it possible to manually set up ip address of unit to connect to in Cuety App on iPad? I'm working with a big network and wifi network is not giving direct access to VLAN with LPU-2. Routing between VLANs is configured but discovery doesn't work.
How discovery is managed anyway? Is it broadcast 255.255.255.255:16945 like with CueCore/QuadCore devices?

Hi,

Yes Cuety uses broadcast in a similar way as vManager. It will broadcast discovery to 255.255.255.255 and to the broadcast address based on your IP/subnet, so that could be something like 192.168.1.255. It uses port 16945 as well.

We are planning to add a way of sending a broadcast to a specific IP address in the future, but it might take a while before we get around to doing that in the Cuety app I'm afraid.

Greetings,
Bootsy

Hi,

thanks very much for info.

One more thing: after connection is established what type of communication is it between app & LPU-2? Is it tcp or udp and on what port?

Hi,

Then it is all unicast UDP. The destination port on the LPU is always 19645, the sending port is whatever the OS gives Cuety I believe.
