Hi VisualProductions

What is the schedule for VDMX 2 ?
Will it be released within next year ?
Are there gonna be done some early Beta testing ?

I'am asking all this because i don't find the VirtualDMX software so well done, as the Cuelux software.
- If the VirtualDMX software were more complete in its GUI, it would have been much better solution for fixed installations, together with VisualTouch.

The whole idea of VisualTouch really works, it's really great ! But VirtualDMX really lacks features i find in lighting consoles, and i don't think they would be that hard to put in.

- But if you already work on VDMX2, then i would like to give some inputs/ideas to features that, i think, could make this product even more competitive on the market.

Have you made any decisions, about VDMX2 yet ?

Best Regards
Hillmann

hi Hillmann,

We are already working on VisualDMX 2. We're expecting to show a first release somewhere in the 2nd half of 2012.
As soon as we have something to show and to communicate our new concept, we will welcome all the feedback; we'll make the proper announcements here on the forum.

Thanks,
Maarten

hi Wouter,

We are actually working on it right now. It will be developed for win+mac+ubuntu. I think we can start show you the preliminary versions in Q4 this year.

sound-to-light is on the roadmap.

Martin,

Is there or was there ever a wish list for VDMX2?

I know I have expressed this before, I suppose one of my primary concerns is will VDMX2 support the existing Elite and Duple hardware I have already purchased?

- Improved audio handling will be nice
- I get the feeling some sort of iRemote may feature.
- Improved Visual Touch would be a god send where you could actually layout buttons where you want them by shape and size rather than having to use "Dummy's".  Also being able to load images on to buttons would be nice.
- Being able to create and share chases / movements with other users
- An interface that would allow be to trigger "macros" from another software could be handy.

I keep saying this and it keeps getting further away but can't way to see what you guys do with this.  Glad to hear you are working on it just now. I'm sort of tempted to stop putting any more time in to programming for this version.

hi Ross,

Thanks for your list; we find those points important too. First we will work to an initial beta version of the software with all the basic functionality. After that, it will be a good time to collect ideas and feedback. At the moment we cannot focus on individual features, we need finish the structure of program first. However, we make sure that structure of the program we're now building can support those features.

I am looking forward to share our concept with you in a few months time.

hi Toomas,

Cuelux Pro (=VisualDMX) will not be using USB as a communication protocol; it will be completely ethernet based. Therefor it is automatically 64-bit compatible.

It does mean you would require a new interface to run the Cuelux Pro software.
Nearer the time we will announce an a nice upgrade offer.
