Hi,

Could you please supply me with a personality file for a Showtec Star Sky II Colour.
The channels and values are listed below.

Channel 1 Red
    0 -  20 Off (Default)
   21 - 223 Fade Slow-Fast
  224 - 255 Full On
Channel 2 Yellow
    0 -  20 Off (Default)
   21 - 223 Fade Slow-Fast
  224 - 255 Full On
Channel 3 Blue
    0 -  20 Off (Default)
   21 - 223 Fade Slow-Fast
  224 - 255 Full On
Channel 4 Green
    0 -  20 Off (Default)
   21 - 223 Fade Slow-Fast
  224 - 255 Full On
Channel 5 Function
    0 - 254 Off (Default)
  255 - 255 On

When channel 5 is full on the channels 1 – 4 become dimmer channels

I hope that makes sense.

Many thanks in advance,

André

I've attached the Showtec-file including the Star Sky 2 Colour.

This file is written for the most recent non-beta software version, available on the VisualDMX website.
Please make sure VisualDMX is not running. Then, copy the (attached) personality file into your ‘VisualDMX\Fixtures’ directory (usually located in C:\Program Files\Visual Productions), overwriting the old one. When you start up VisualDMX the new file will be loaded.

Be aware that the, especially newly created, personality file that has been written for you has not been tested on the actual fixture. It is therefore always advised to test the personality file before using it in live shows.

Hi Joroen,

Thanks for the fixture update.

I have noticed that I have only 4 channels for dimming, how do I access channel 5.

Channel 5, allows the dimmers on channels 1 to 4 to behave differently.
When channel 5 if off (0) then channels 1 - 4 when set between 21 - 223 are in auto fade mode from slow to fast. I am sure there are mutiple settings within this range but I am not worried about that.
When channel 5 is on (255) then channels 1 - 4 act as normal full range dimmers.

I have looked at the showtec file and can see that channel 5 is set to 255, but how do I adjust it?

Please see my original post for the channel settings and values.

Many thanks,

André

Onge,

I disabled the Auto-fade mode because you can do the same with the VisualDMX chases. Just playback a dimmerchase on the fixture and you'll have a similar effect (and by choosing different chases, you can create other effects).

Hi Jeroen,

Thank you, I can understand your reason for doing it that way, but I would still like to have some way to control all of the fixtures dmx channels/values.
