Hello,

Looking around for software to control lights in combination with QLab. Stumbled on some dubious examples that however include 3d visualization and come at not too much money. Not too sure about integration with QLab and reliability. Understand that Cuelux is able to work with Capture and/or WYSIWYG, however both packages are too expensive for the organization I'm working for.

Are there alternatives for 3d Visualization in combination with Cuelux?

Is it a workable situation to prepare shows (including moving lights and leds) with Cuelux without using a visualizer, as I will need to prepare shows in advance without having access to the actual rig? What's the risk I would be running when working like that?

thx for the help

Hello,

If you have the USB Cuecable connected then Cuelux will also send the DMX values using Art-Net. If your visualizer is able to recieve these values then it should work.

An alternative visualizer could be Light Converse.

If it's a workable situation or not is more a personal thing but most people create shows without the use of a visualizer and set the positions when they are on site.
