Hello!

Can I plug a simple tabletop controller to a CueCore DMX Input and route the signal to the Universe B Output?

I use a IMG Stage Line DMX1440 to control some effects, and Cuelux Pro (with CueCore) to control all the moving heads: is it possible to record the entering DMX signal to create cues that match the scenes on the controller? If not, even the simple pass-through of the signal would be useful!

Thank you!

Hello Bennetz,

What you can do is route the incoming DMX data from the input port to output B. However, what you should keep in mind is that, when using the recorder, the input data is always mapped to universe A. Hence, any recorded DMX data is always routed to the output port A. In other words; you can create  'link' between the input port and output port B, however back, you can't record DMX  which, when playing the recording, is send to output port B. You can achieve this through Art-Net, but this is a workaround and not really straight forward.

Another thing to keep in mind is that CueluxPro will temporarily disable the standalone functionality of the CueCore. That is, when a CueCore is selected to be used in CueluxPro the CueCore will be marked as 'mastered', all standalone functionalities are paused, and all DMX ports are controlled by CueluxPro. Whenever CueloPro releases the unit, all standalone functionalities will come back online. If this creates a problem, you could try to route the the incoming DMX data to output port B via CueluxPro, but again, this is a bit of a workaround.
Please let me know if this helps or if you need further assistants with the programming and good luck!
Best regards,

Jurrien

Thank you!

It's ok for the routing (I don't really need recording), but can I use Cuelux Pro to control the Universe A and -at the same time- route the dmx input to the Universe B?

Maybe I could use the "DMX splitter" template, but I think it only works when Cuelux Pro is not active, right?

So I think the best solution is routing the incoming DMX to the Universe B via Cuelux Pro (and maybe record it in a new cue?), but... how?

Thank you very much!

Hello Bennetz,

After some playing around with CueluxPro I found that the only option you have here is to route a couple of channels. That is, you need to create an action per channel that is routed. I think that it might be possible to create 512 channels and thus route the complete universe, but that would involve a lot of clicking. So, hopefully, you only need to route a couple of channels.
To do this, follow these steps:

1)In CueluxPro, you select Memories -> Actions.
2)Add an action list (left part of the action screen) of source DMX input and set the Identifier to your CueCore.
3)Add an action, make sure it is selected and click edit.
4)In the edit screen, make sure that the trigger type is set to channel, select the right address in the trigger area and make sure the flank is set to on change (all in the left part of the edit screen).
5)Then add an action task of type DMX, set feature to Set Value and the function to Control.
6)Click the value in the Parameter 1 column and click change to select the destenation channel.

Then repeat step 3 to 6 for every channel you need to route. Good luck and let us know if you need further assistance or have any further questions.
Best regards,

Jurrien

Thank you, I'll try if it works!

Another solution I was thinking of is swapping universes: can I move all my moving heads to the Universe B and route the DMX input to the Universe A? Would it be simpler?
