Hello,
all the question is in the title ... I'm on a MacBook Pro (Monterey) and trying to figure out how to send a file to control my Lpu-1.
Any idea ? I don't have Itunes, and don't want to overload my hard drive with a full sync of my iPad just to send a 255bytes file.

Thanks!

Hi,

Normally you should be able to transfer the iPad using finder, iTunes is only needed on Windows now.

Another option is to run the Cuety app on a different device (macOS is supported but you will need a big enough screen, and/or change your scaling for the app to fit) You can then patch the fixtures on there, and do the programming on the iPad.

Greetings,
Bootsy

I have this problem as well. New LPU-1/Cuety user, have created a new fixture profile in vBuilder on my macbook, and managed to transfer it (user.personality) to the Files folder on my ipad. From there on it's a mystery to me how to get the personality to show up in Cuety. Anyone care to shed some light on this? Thanks!

When you connect the Ipad to a Mac computer using Finder, you need to transfert the user.personality file in the Cuety folder. (See in the screenshot included)
Once it is transfered, restart Cuety, and when you go in the library the manufacturer name of your custom fixture will be at the top of the manufacturer list in between brackets, not in the alphabetical order. ( See 2nd screenshot).
I hope this will help you,
Enjoy,

So, I already had my hopes up with this one. I did manage to get the user personality I'd created to show up in the Cuety personality library, only to realise, I'd built it wrong as my first try in vBuilder. So, I got into the tutorials merging user personality files, and now I'm really confused. Is the process supposed to be opening the user.personality file stored on the ipad and pasting new code into that? That's my understanding of the youtube-tutorial. But how does one open the file on the ipad?
I have the ipad connected via usb to my laptop (mac), and the cuety folder open in the finder window. I've tried clicking, doubleclicking, shiftclicking, rightclicking etc. but the only action offered is "delete".
I've tried deleting the user.personality file as well as options.xml and replacing them with new version but nothing changed, only the first, faulty personality showed up.
I have then deleted and reinstalled cuety on my ipad, made a new version of the fixture in vBuilder and tried loading that into the cuety app. Now the first, faulty one doesn't show up anymore, but neither does the new one.
Anyone able to help me with this?

The merging process needs to be done on the mac.
The Ipad will not let you edit the file directly.
So the idea is to merge the file by hand on the computer and then send it back to the ipad.

Could you send me you fixture file ( user.personality) this way I will have a look at it, and try to find why it is not working.

Just sent you the user.personality file.

I get that the merging is supposed to be done on the computer. But when exporting from vBuilder, a new user.personalities file is generated, right? Which replaces the older one stored in the vBuilder folder? And the new file includes the fixture I want to add to cuety. But which file am I then supposed to open and enter the new code into? Can't be the new one, since it already contains the new fixture, and the older one has been overwritten, hasn't it?

Yes I received your email with your file, and it is working fine for me.
OK I understand your problem. Yes you are right, when you export a new file from the Vbuilder it will completely overwrite the previous one.
But you can always get the file back from the Ipad, using Finder, like you did to transfert the file from the Mac to ipad, you can do it the opposite, from the Ipad to the MAc.

Ah ok, that clarifies the merge thing. Thank you. But do you have any idea why the user fixture doesn't show up in the personality list? The file you received is the one I've transferred to the cuety app. The most recent experiment I did was doing a factory reset of the cuety, unplugging and restarting. Still no sign of the user fixture.

It also seems virtually impossible to do a complete fresh start with this system. As I wrote earlier, I've done a factory reset and reboot of the lpu-1, deleted cuety on the ipad, and made sure that the cuety folder disappeared from the app folder before reinstalling, and still, the patches I made before were still reloaded when I opened cuety again. Only the custom fixtures still don't show up.

Ok I understand where is the problem.
Once you patch a fixture in Cuety, it is included in the show file stored inside the LPU. So, even if you erase the fixture file from your tablet ,it is still stored in the patch in the LPU. This is why you are still seeing the previous file in your patch.
Now we just need to figure out why you do not see the new file in the tablet. Do you see any manufacturer name between [] at the top of the manufacturer library?

No, there is nothing there when I open cuety. No [] brackets. The personality list starts directly with 5Star Systems.
