I have been exclusively using the Akai APCmini for my cuelux controllers but the faders on these things aren’t very reliable and replacements are hard to find now that they’ve been discontinued for so long. Akai has recently released a mkII of this controller with RGB buttons, is there anyone available at Visual Productions to make a custom mapping for this new controller? I could mail a controller in and pay for the necessary time to have it done.

https://www.akaipro.com/apc-mini-mk2

Thanks!

Hi,
This new controller seems really great to use with Cuelux as the Akai APC mini was.
We can create the midimap for you but we would need you to send us the midi informations of each button.
To get them you can use a midi monitor software like MidiOx, or just the midi monitor of Cuelux pro.

I am also interested in this feature. I tried the apc mini map but not all is functioning as the map in the cuelux pro manual describes.

We are still waiting for the mapping informations of the Akai APC mini to be able to create the midimap file.
You say that the APC mini map file in Cuelux Pro do not work as said in the manual. Could you telle me what is not working?
This way I will be able to fix it.

Thank you for the document this will be very usefull.
I will try to send you a first version of the midi map file quickly to let you test it and give me feedback.
But Cuelux do not manage RGB colors, so I am not sure how the color feedback of the buttons will react.

Hi,
Please find a first version of the. midimap file including the Akai APC midi MKII.
For now I did not take care of the feedback, i would like to be sure that I am using the right codes for all the buttons.
could you please test it and tell me if all the buttons and faders are having the behaviour you would expect?
If everything goes fine, then I will implement the feedback.

To test the midimap, please save the file in the cuelux/midimaps/user folder.

Waiting for your feedback, ;)

Thanks for getting this back to me! Here are my findings:

-8x8 playback buttons dim white when scene programmed but off.
-8x8 playback buttons have no light output when scene engaged (as if the Button had no scene).
-8x8 playback buttons dim red when scene stopped then go back to dim white.
-Playback faders work great! MKii seems to be much more responsive here which is great.
-Instant buttons 1-6 above faders work as playback buttons instead of instant.
-Instant buttons 7-8 above faders change fader page.
-8 square buttons on far right don't engage anything yet, pressing any of the first 8 doesn't appear to do anything but blackout button and fader work.

I would also like to make sure you have the right mapping as there is 2 versions in cuelux and the one I use isn't default, I am hoping to use the mapping which is shown previously in this thread with globals assigned to the top right 3 square buttons.

Thanks again for getting this figured out, I really appreciate it!

Hi, thank you for the feedback.
The buttons colors are part of feedback, I will take care of this once all commands will work fine.
I have updated my previous post to include the new version of the file, I found where I made some mistakes so now all buttons should work fine.
Please tell me,

Here's what I've found with the latest update:

-Globals don't work yet (Fog, Strobe, Blinder) on the top right 3 buttons
-Break will engage but will not disengage from the controller.

Other than feedback lights everything else appears to be working correctly!

Thank you!
