Hi,
I have no experience with using DMX and lighting equipment, so it's fair to say I´m in really deep water.
A company has configured an Iocore 2 to perform a set of actions, including turning on some lights and closing a curtain when receiving a signal, before turning them off again after 30 seconds. Currently, that signal is a relay being closed by a LabView program. This is triggered every 5 or 10 minutes for a total of 5 days. Unfortunately, the LabView program has been quite unstable, and im looking for a new way to trigger the Iocore. I noticed that the Iocore has art-net functionality built-in, so im wondering if there is a way to use this protocol to trigger the actions programmed on the iocore? I noticed that the Culuex Pro software apparently needs the Cuelux USB cable in order to communicate over art-net, but unfortunately, i dont have this on hand.

Best regards

Olav

You can use artnet as a trigger, in the web interface of the IOcore, go in the Showcontrol page and add the Art-net source to the action list.
Do not forget before that to set the artnet universe value to set the communication between the Art-net source and the IOcore. When the settings are good you will seethe Art-net indicator turning white at the bottom right of the interface.
Back to the show control page, in the artnet action list you can now  create some actions and going into edit, you will be able to select what specific trigger you want to use ( you can use the learn button to be sure that the trigger is working) and link this trigger to any task you will need to IOcore to perform.

Cuelux Pro do not need the CueCable (USB cuelux cable) to work), to activate the Cuelux Pro outputs you need to connect a CueCore/Quadcore or Iocore.
Once a physical DMX output is assigned to a universe in the patch / universe you will be able to activate the artnet output .
