Dear,

I am a cuety user that just started using Cuelux pro with a Behringer Xtouch compact. Can you help me a bit with the actual benefits of the midi interface? I was hoping that it could be of much use in the programmer but it's faders doesn't seem to work in the programmer at all. That could be really handy to speed up programming.
Also, I was hoping to control the individual intensity of multiple lights (a bit like an old hardware simple DMX table).

I love cuelux pro so far, but it looks a bit that the benefit of the midi interface is very limited. But maybe I looked over it.

Best, Rieks

The midi map of the midi interface you choose "behringer Xtouch compact" had not been designed to be able to control the programmer part.
It is only for live control, where it allows you to be much more reactive on controls than using the mouse.

If you want a midi controller allowing you to control the programmer you should have a look at the elation midicon pro.

Now if you want to be able to control the intensity of a group of fixture with a fader, select the fixtures, set the intensity to full in the programmer, click on record and then on an empty fader.
You have now a cuelist with one cue controlling intensity assigned to your fader, Clear the programmer, and start the cuelux by clicking once on the red square above the fader.
The fader is now controlling the intensity of your fixture.
You can also go into the setting of the playback fader by double clicking on the red square above the fader and activate the "fader start" option. This way the cuelist will start automatically as soon as you move the fader up.

Enjoy ;)

Julien,

in June 2023, you are officially recommending a Midicon / Midicon Pro as an input device here, although both the Elation/ADJ devices seem to be no longer manufactured or sold for months now.

Some dealers flag the units as "no longer manufactured", some keep on stating availability dates from September 2023 to January 2024, but they all keep being postponed since end of 2022 (it was "delivery expected in April 2023" by then...)

Are there any other sources for that, or an alternative but similar hardware controller product I do not know?  I have been trying to get an Elation or ADJ MiciCon as a CueCore console for more than a year now  without success (due to warranty reasons, it has to be a new unit and not a used one from the various bay sources), so the finalisation of my "CueCore console" project has been in frozen state for months.

Yes you are right the first version of the midicon is not manufactured anymore because it had been replaced by the midicon 2.
This model is available today, and Cuelux pro include a midimap file for it to let you use it plug and play.

I hope this will help you to finish your "CueCore Console".

Hello all,

today I received the official info from ADj support that the Midicon 2 will not be produced anymore. The ADJ Link replaces the Midicon 2.
Officially using it as a MIDI controller is not supported. However it still works as a MIDI controller just like the Midicon 2.

So although I have not tested it yet, it should be possible to either use the proprietary DMX software that comes with the LINK, or to use it as a MIDi controller for CueLux just as the MidiCOn series.
I will keep you updated if it really works - if so, it is a nice alternative and even gives more options to use the desk as a separate DMX console.

Best,

Sven

OK, thank you for the update.
It is sad that they are stopping the Midicon 2,

Please let us know if you succeed using the ADJ Link as a midi controller.
