Hello,
i lately had a project with a CueCore2 and Kiosc Touch. The number of "Tasks system-wide" gave me a hard limit on what was possible. The project had just 23 DMX channels to control, 6 playbacks and 3 GPI.

I wonder which device offers the most "Tasks system-wide", "Actions per list" and so on to have the most possibilities.

Sorry to hear that you had some hard time programming your CueCore2.

If you need more task and actions for next programming, you can have a look at the CueCore3 where all capabilities are at least doubled compare to CueCore2.
But to save some task and actions you can always look at the API commands ( available on the last section of the manual).
This will give you a list of OSSC, UDP, TCP and HTTP messages you can directly send to the CueCore task it to do a specific action without having to create any action and task in the show control part.

I hope this will help you, ;)

Hello, Thanks for you reply.
Since I don't have access to the kisoc touch and CueCore2, because the installation is in another city, I cannot play with the api.

I have a bunch of faders on the kiosc touch, that directly control DMX channels via OSC. If that faders could send API messages directly without the use of task in a action it would save some tasks. Could you give me a example how make it in Kiosc Touch?

Controlling a DMX channel from OSC message is really easy with the API,
In the Kiosc editor just change the tag of your fader to /core/dmx/1 (1 is to control channel 1)
Set the fader to "integer" and change minimum and maximum between 0 and 255.
That's it.
You can remove all the show control actions you have doing the OSC/dmx conversion.

The only limits is that you can only control 1 DMX channel with 1 fader.
But you can use at the same time the UDP api command, and doing this you will be able to control 2 DMX channels with one fader!

Thanks Julien. I was not sure if I understood the manual the right way. But then it is really easy.

May I ask another question?

There was the wish to set up DMX channels via faders from Kiosc touch and then save this static look to a specific track that is member of a playback. Is this possible at all?

It is possible but with limitations.
The problem is that the Cuecore can only record what it is receiving as an input, so that means you need to loop one output of the Cuecore to the input (and use a splitter on the output; one splitter output for going to the DMX fixtures one to the Cuecore input)
So in the end this solution will be available with only 1 universe.

Now with the show control or api you can select a track, and make a DMX snapshot?
The snapshot will update the selected track with what ever was outputted by the Cuecore, and then you will have new content in your playback.

Enjoy ;)
