Hi Maarten, I have noticed that there seems to be a problem with the ROBE moving heads in the new software release. You cant seem to take control of them manually. If you try clicking on the head and moving the beam around it doesn't respond to how it should be.

Regards,

Shane

Hi Shane,

Please help me in understanding the issue better.

- What software version are you using?
- What is the type and mode of Robe spots you're using?
- Are other functions like colours and gobos still working fine?

Cheers,

Maarten

Hi Maarten the version I am having problems with is 1.41. The heads that are causing me problems are the Robe Zoom250XT and the Robe Spot250AT. The gobos and colour wheels are fine. The problem seems to be when you click on the head and try and position it manually.

Regards,

Shane

I would appreciate it if you could install the new version (1.45 build 5) and try if the problem persists.

Hi Shane,

I am not able to reproduce the problem you're describing in 1.45 build 5. I have checked the personality file, verified the dmx output in the monitor, tried both Robe models in different modes; everything looks good.

- if we take i.e. the ColorSpot 250 AT, which mode are you using?
- do you have other moving lights that you can test; is this problem only effecting these two Robe models?

Hi Maarten,

The Colourspot works ok on this version but I am still having problems with the MS Zoom 250's. They are in 16bit mode 2. If you try and control the head manually by clicking on it you cannot position it using the cursor. The head just tilts from one side to the other.

Shane,

I think I am now understanding what happens. The MSZoom has two 16 bit modes; mode 1 & mode 2. VisualDMX assumes you're using mode 1 when selecting the 16 bit mode.

Can you verify which mode is set in your fixtures? The behauviour you describe could be caused by mismatching the modes.

I'll make sure that in the next release the personality file is update to have three modes: 1, 2 & "8 bit".
