Hello everybody
I´m new to this using a BStation2 for a simple porjekt at a movie  theatre.
Now I can´t find out how to connect a second BStation on the other side of the room which calls the same scenes like the one already in use.
Sure I can´t just connect a dmx-cable to the same input of the dimmer,,,,
But as it seems to be possible due to the ad/manual my guess is it needs to be done with a different template or protocol.
Can anybody help?
Are there any tutorials or how tos I just couldn´t find yet?
Best regards and thanks in advance

Hi Freilicht

A very fair question. Consider the two B-Stations, in this case, as a 'master' and a 'slave'. The master has the DMX output connected to the dimmer. The other will be connected to that master via the network. Programming now has to be made in such a way, that pressing button 1, for instance, on the Master, will start playback 1. Then you can make a Playback actionlist, and create and action that sends a button light/colour change message to both the itself and the slave. On the slave, you make a button 1 action that sends the master a message to start playback one. In this case both buttons will do and behave exactly the same.

Have a play with this.
And if you need more information, let us know. Then we can make you a backup file with an example.

Also, on our downloads page, under miscellaneous, we have a B-Station2 applications package with a number of examples, including their backups, for you to use and adapt to your situation. Perhaps something in there can be of use. Or gets you inspired.

Cheers,

Hi Francois,
thank you so much for your help.
I just started to take over this and we have already 5 and more projects we work with B-Station2 but the guy who did the programming is gone so I´m learning with the manual from your website.
It woul be great if you could help with an example due to I´m not so fit with all these protocols( OSC and UDP sends signals as I can see in the monitor but there is no reaction wich tells me I do something wrong)
and there is alot more for me to learn and make things work
( like we do a lot of movie-theaters so I also need to run the buttons over the network from another source like the projector wich sends UDP).
I attached my file and don´t know how to thank you for your help...
Kind regards

cheers

Hi, and sorry for the delay on the response.

I was working on a file for you, but ran into a bug on the B-Station configuration. This prevented me from using a particular feature that would give a nice smooth programming.
We will be fixing this in a next firmware update, but until then, I have a workaround for you. See the file attached. Two B-Station2's will look and behave exactly the same, where just one is outputting DMX.

Please note you will have to check the OSC output IP address(es) on the Settings page to reflect your situation correctly ;-)

Cheers,

Hi Francois,
I added two more playbacks like the customer wants it and it is still working.
But now I don´t get the button lights to respond. I tried to  do another playback action "PB2 cue index" but I cant make it happen.
I need to use "transport-go+" so they can change only the specific fixtures so the custumer would like to have button colours change on every push for playback 2&3.
I´m not even sure if that is possible. If you could have a short look on it and tell me if it was possible it would help me again.
I already have the next Project on the table with at least three B-Stations....
The attached file should pretty much be what we´ll be working with even so the button lights on 4&5 don´t respond.
Thanx in advance

Hi Francois,

I have a new project for the same customer and he wants 2 Bstation for each room again. He is really happy with the last installation burt there is a small thing I wonder I don´t make it happen.
Button 4 on the slave is changing the colours but the brightness does not behave like the master (like they show the right colour but don´t go on 100% like the master does. The master does it even when the slave is pushed). I wonder why as I play around with the variables I don´t get it to work, I think it must be something small ijn the settings. If you could have a look on it I attach the files...
Thanks in advance

François is not working today so I had a look at your programming.
I thinks the problem you are describing is coming from a mistake in the "Variable" actionlist of the slave B-Station.
The action "Set LED 4 100%" has its trigger set to variable 1 equal 4. If my understanding of the project is right it should be on when playback 2 is playing, so you need to change this trigger to when variable 2 stops being equal to 0.
it works on my test setup !
good luck ;)

Hello everybody,
I adapted  the two BStation files for a new project and I got some problems,
First of all button one on the slave changes the color although it shouldn´t (it should only change brightness) and I can´t find the bug.
Also I can´t add more actions on the userlist and I don´t know why.
Another question is: as the cutomer wants to control the system with userlist-actions via UDP and start multiple playbacks I think it´s not really working to have the buttons behave like the do when I only use one Playback. Is that right?
I aprechiate your help
thank you

I loaded the 2 backups in my B-stations, and I was not able to reproduce the button color issues you are describing.
But maybe i did not understand the problem right, for me the slave is mimicking the master perfectly ( intensity and color) is it the expected behavior?
You cannot add anymore actions in the master because you reach the limit number of actions. You cannot have more than 64 actions in a B-stations and you already have them. Tis is why the add button is greyed.
I am sorry but I do not understand your last question. But using User list actions, is useful if you use multiple time the same set of tasks. AS there is a limit on the number of task you can  have, instead of having multiple time multiple task, you put them in a specific action in a user action list, and this way you only use one task every time you need all of them.

I hope this will help you,

Hi Julien,
thank you for your help.
I understood that I already have 64 actions ( Every command is an action, right. Not only the commands where the task type is called Action).

Strange that I have the color change problem. If I hit button six and afterwards I hit button five then only on the slave, button one tuns into white altough it should stay yellowish, but never mind. I need to get rid of all those color feedback to use more actions in the userlist.
thanks for your great support...

yes, every command in your action list in an action... so that can increase quite fast!
Good luck for your programming, ;)
