Dear all,

If you have installed an earlier vManager version than 1.8.2 through the Microsoft Store, please take some time to safeguard your backup files BEFORE updating to the latest version. Updating can lead to the loss of the backup files.

Please copy your backup files from:

 C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Packages\VisualProductionsBV.vManager_3enttrwx2z32m\LocalState\Visual Productions\vManager\Backups

To a secure location of your choice.

Once updated to 1.8.2, you can then copy those files to:

C:\My Documents\Visual Productions\Common\Backups

[Update 16 May 2025]

After some contact with Microsoft, and a little bit of help, they unfortunately have become unresponsive. This hinders us in our efforts to prevent more users from experiencing data loss.
However, in the meantime we are not sitting still. But working hard, and making progress, on possible solution scenarios.

What has become clear is that after the update the files in the 'old' backup location may not be removed immediately. But after some time, they are and cannot be retrieved. This might give some users the opportunity to rescue their work.

So again, and as always is the case: Please be vigilant in copying your backup files to a safe location.
See the previous post for file location.

Thank you so much for your trust and patience.

[Update 20 May 2025]

We are in the final stages of testing the solution for this issue.
As soon as this gets the Ok, it will be released on the Windows Store, and your data should be safe once more.

Thank you once again for your understanding

This version makes sure that any files in the old backup location are copied to the new user files location. As well as that it
