Hi everyone,
I’m curious how you usually set DMX addresses on drivers that don’t have DIP switches – for example, the uPowerTek BLD-320-C140-MRS-A00000.
While NFC is an option, I find it quite inconvenient, especially when the fixtures are hard to reach. I’m therefore looking for an alternative solution – is this usually done via RDM, special addressor devices, or do you have another proven method?
I’m looking for a practical way to easily address multiple units in the field.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
Gregor

Hi Gregor,

We are really at the mercy of the manufacturers here, I'm afraid.
It all depends on what addressing methods have been implemented in the fixture. Since different solutions require different hardware and / or programming.
So your best option is to keep track of the fixtures' manuals and go from there.
When buying fixtures, this kind of functionality certainly has to be considered in relation to your specific setup. Where will my devices be installed? Do I need to reach them to address them? If not, what methods are available, and can I make it as uniform across my setup as possible?

Cheers,
