clear from showcontrol

Hello,
I am currently building a system using a B-station2, cuecore3 and some fixtures.
I would like to know if there is a way to clear the DMX output (like the clear button in the playback page basically) from the showcontrol page.
If I use kiosc and i colorpick from a wheel, for example, if I want to play a playback, all the lights will keep the color I picked and not switch to the color I choose for the playback.
Is there a way I did not think of?

First of all thank you for using our products 

Yes, this is possible. In the Show Control action that starts the playback, add a

**DMX → Clear → All** task

before the **Playback → Jump** task.

Add one Clear task for each fixture controlled by the Kiosc colour picker. This removes the direct fixture values, allowing the recorded playback colour to take over.

Thank you for your response.
I did try the DMX -> clear in ShowControl, but it seems I can't make it work.
I also tried Fixtures -> clear, and same thing.

If there is a color picked from a color picker (on kiosc for example) or from the playbacks page, and I play a playback, if the playback is not on 100% intensity, it will merge the color.
If I release the playback the lights will take a color picked from somewhere. It is like the default of the lights is not 000000 but a color from somewhere ?

Maybe I did not understand what the clear function is really doing ?
From my understanding, it clear the DMX output so it should 'turn off' the fixtures ?

NB : Im using your system for an office that has special needs in terms of lights.
And im not a light technician, so I may not have some basic understanding of this world...

Hey Auguste,

What you are seeing is caused by HTP merging. The colour from Kiosc and the colour from the playback are treated as separate sources, and the highest DMX value wins on each RGB channel. This is why a playback below 100% can mix with the previously selected colour.

“Clear” does not necessarily mean blackout. It releases values from a specific control layer, but another source can still remain active or send the colour again.

For static office scenes, I would recommend controlling the colour and intensity directly with Fixture tasks in Show Control instead of combining the Kiosc colour picker with playbacks. Alternatively, keep the playback at 100% and store the required brightness using the fixture’s intensity channel inside the cue.

A quick test is to select red in Kiosc and run a blue playback at 100%. Then lower the playback intensity. If the red starts mixing in again, this confirms the HTP behaviour.
