Hey,

So right now I'm using Generic RGB profiles to control our LED fixtures (which are controlled by multiple Color Kinetics PDS-70mr 24V)
When, only two color channels are used (i.e. lights are pink using RED/BLUE but no GREEN) I can hit blackout and everything goes dark.
However, If I'm using all three color channels (i.e. lights are white using full R/G/B) and I hit blackout, some of the fixtures act erratically and get stuck ON.
The only way to fix the issue at that point is to select the fixture and manually dial up each color channel, then dial them back down individually.
I should point out that when selecting all fixtures and changing color values, cuelux gets very very jumpy and laggy.
At this point, this is the only major issue that's keeping me from deploying cuelux during performance.
Any ideas?

BTW.
Let me know if you want me to take some video of the issue or if there's anything that needs further explanation.

Thanks in advance.

Regarding Cuelux becoming jumpy/laggy... could you tell me a bit about your computer's specs?

Sure,

I'm running it under OSX.
The machine is an iMac 2.66GHz Intel Core2Duo w/2GB RAM.
Radeon HD 2600 Pro GPU.

Your system specs are fine. Could you perhaps send me your show XML file with which you experience the problem. Then I can debug using your file. That would help track down the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hey again. Happy New Year.

Did you ever get a chance to look at that file?
I think the problem might stem from using generic fixtures for the LED columns, but I dont know how to read the code to see if theres a conflict in the color data.
Still having the same problem, when all three color channels are use the blackout blacks out some of the lights, but others get stuck randomly. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't use Cuelux in a performance setting while this problem is occuring.
Feel free to PM me. I'm happy to resend the xml.
Thanks
noah

Hey Maarten,

Know you're probably swamped with the new build, but did you get a chance to take a look at the file?

hi Noah,

Sorry to have kept you waiting. I've loaded the file but I can't really find anything wrong.

I send out colours on the RGBs and check in the options->"dmx monitor" that all the values go to zero when I press blackout, and they do. I have confirmed with a dmx tester that I also receive the data correctly on the DMX bus.

Am I not understanding the problem correctly?

Thanks for taking a look Maarten.

You understood the problem correctly.
I thinking it must stem from the way the PowerData Supply handles DMX.
Is it possible to build a profile specifically for the Color Kinetics PDS-150e?
Would it be any different from generic one I'm running now?

Here's the docu: www.colorkinetics.com/support/datasheets/PDS-150e.pdf

Banging my head against the wall on this prob, so any help would be super appreciated...

hmmm... the datasheet doesn't show the dmx traits, nor does the 'product guide' i found on their website...

I assume you could control it with a 'Generic' - 'RGB x06' , but it would good to check with the unit's DMX traits.

Did the unit come with some paper documentation that might have this info?

We didn't receive any documentation with the units.
I'm using an RGBx08 to control the PDS-60 at the moment. (4 sides to a column, 2 columns per fixture)
As far as I can tell the traits are generic RGB.
I've contacted color Kinetics regarding the matter, but haven't received a response yet.
I will see if I can get the specific traits from them.
Thanks for the help.
